Please contact us if you have medical supplies or equipment for donation. Because shipping costs to the Democratic Republic of Congo are so high, we must be careful to ensure that the donations of equipment we receive will be worth incurring the shipping costs. For some items, it makes more sense to “buy local” if the items are attainable. In some cases, we may be able to get items from countries that are closer.
Disposable supplies are not ideal for the Congo due to a lack of trash disposal services.
Low tech medical equipment is actually preferable to high tech in many cases. Access to electricity is random. Training is required for use of high tech equipment. Parts and technical support for most of this equipment is not available locally and very expensive to get from Europe. Please contact us to discuss whether a particular piece of equipment or supply is appropriate. If we can’t use it, we can direct you to someone who can!
Donated medications must be less than 6 months expired upon arrival at the hospital.
